Is Language a barrier?

I speak no Japanese (okay, maybe only those really simple ones). The Japanese speak little English. Nonetheless, from our very first meeting, there was some kind of connection between them and me that was surprising and sincere, which also grew stronger over the long day we had.

Was a facilitator cum volunteer for YEC's Japanese engagement programme held today. They are members of the Junior Chamber International, on an exchange trip to Singapore to spread the message of world peace and stability. Had a blast! :) Our role was to bring the Japanese from Kyoto(working adults age ranging from late 20s to 40s) to iconic places like Little India and Chinatown, for them to immerse in the multiracial culture in Singapore. Chinatown Heritage Centre, The Chinese temple, Maxwell Food Centre, Little India, Merlion Park were the few places we went. It was no doubt a long and tiring day! But we all had an awesomeeeeeeeeeee day!

No photos available, as I did not bring my camera along. However, those awesome memories are kept within ourselves, and it'll definitely be there for some time. Hence, photos are not necessarily needed(but the japanese did took some photos.afterall, they are tourists here!). Cultural exchanges session through origami foldings and Japanese games after the day-trip, further closed up that gap between us. Somehow, language is no longer a barrier. Group 11/Team Azusushi(idk the spelling) is one AWESOME team!
